Steel wire armoured (SWA) cable is the workhorse of power distribution where cables face both mechanical impact and tensile stress. Our CU/XLPE/SWA/LSZH construction combines a stranded copper conductor, XLPE insulation, a bedding layer, a helical layer of galvanized steel wires, and an LSZH outer sheath for superior fire safety.
The steel wire armour carries tensile loads, making this cable suitable for vertical runs, long duct pulls, and direct burial in ground subject to ground movement. Type-tested armoured constructions per BS 5467 are available with TÜV Rheinland certification.
